The countdown continues

Time keeps ticking away......It is amazing just how quickly it can go by.  Just over a week to go and we are getting more and more organised every day.  I have to admit that after that mad flurry of sewing I have had a few days break!  Other than whipping up one bag I have been filling up my time running other errands that need to be taken care of before I can leave the country and my family.  As the nerves settle about the organisation of our trip, the nerves grow about leaving the Flossies and Mr Floss at home.  I have never ventured out for this long without them and being over the other side of the world seems just so far away.  I know they will all be fine and will enjoy the time together (Mr Floss is very excited to be able to play house husband for a while) and with their grandparents who will help out for a few days, but what about me??!!  Will I be fine without them??  I am completely sure that I will (as always) have a complete blast with Rosie and will really enjoy playing the independent woman for two weeks but it just seems so unfamiliar, almost like leaving half of yourself behind.   100_1411_2

Maybe I can employ the services of these gorgeous Messenger Birdies Rosie made this week to send my love back to those at home!!  Aren't they adorable?  - Melly

The messenger birds are really adorable. I love the fabrics Rosie used! I hope you both will be able to enjoy every minute of your trip together. And Hurray for the (cell) phones and the internet! You will be able to have contact with your family whenever you should want to. And you will have so many distraction, time will fly! Good luck with all the preparations!

It will be strange but I'm sure you will cope - you will be so busy having fun and think how lovely it will be to go back home - and how much they will appreciate all you do! Rosie's birds are gorgeous. When are you two going to write a book? I mean, you don't have to sell it to anyone else, you could do it just for me? Pleeeeease!

I'm sure you girls will have a great time, I wish I could come too! I'll be thinking of you, and wishing you a safe journey. I can't wait to read all about it!

I can totally relate to how you feel, but am sure they will be fine & that you will be so busy thatn before you know it - you'll be back home swamped with hugs n kisses & lots of questions from your flossies about your trip.

The birds are definitely adorable!
Good luck with all the last minute preparations!

Melly I know how you feel my children are all grown up and I still feel strange leaving them. The birds are lovely they are the bet pattern.

Such pretty birds! I love the fluffiness of them.

I sympathise with the difficulty of leaving the kiddlywinks behind - I am completely hopeless at it. I have an overnight work trip coming up and I am absolutely not looking forward to it ...

I promise I will look after you flossy-minuvius! dont worry about anything!

Love the birdies...I would certainly use them as messengers of love. You will be fine especially having your sister with you, I am sure Rosie will take your mind of the flossies big and small. But I do know how you feel. Just Enjoy!

Oh wow - I am getting so excited for you guys! I'm sure you'll have such a great time at Quilt Market! Good luck with all of your last minute to dos!

These are so cute! Good luck with all the last minute preparations.

Oh yes, I know you feel - I'm off on Friday for a long weekend away with my hubby san kiddies (aged 14 and 15!!!!) - first time ever away without my girls - part of me is giddy with excitement and part of me feels sick at the thought of it - anyway, you'll have such a great time - you'll be back home before you know it!! Rosies birds are just so fab - have a great trip girls.

Close your eyes when you give them that big hug when you leave. Then when you are missing them while you are away you can close your eyes and feel that big hug all over again. Have a great time!

Everyone in America is just going to love you 2 and your Fab patterns and designs - As we all do is Oz! You better make sure they let you back out of the country to come home. Texting the family a few times a day keeps them close when you're far away.
Blessings, Janelle x

You're going to rock America! Such fun to follow you along with the countdown...and to see all you've been making for the big occasion! We're still on holiday in the USA, and having a fab time! So great to have a moment to stop by and see what you've been up to--lots! Happy Days ((HUGS))

You will have a BLAST!!! What fun to travel, have 'girl time', and let the world see your talent.
Enjoy the anticipation as that's part of the fun!

Dear Melly, I've never left my kids - not even for a weekend (in 13 years), so I can imagine how you feel. They will all be fine, and so will you after you initially settle in. I wish I could be going. Are you getting much sleep with the excitement of the trip coming up?? Have fun, and happy stitching.

Hello,

I love your birds!
It is almost 3 November and I visit you with my husband and also
Beertje Zonn in Utrecht -
Krea- Doe.

Kind regards,

Sonnja
