oops.
"Melly"
"Yes Rosie"
"Look what I just found in my fabric pile!"
"Wasn't that supposed to be finished by the end of 2007??"
"No, surely we said 2008!"
"Do you think anyone is on to us??"
"I know!, I know! Let's take a photo of it with Baby Floss. Surely the cute factor will win us an extension!!"
So guys, did it work?????? Have we bought some time??
We have to admit that our original challenge to each other did not quite get done in time!! We could blame it on Houston, we could blame it on the Boogie, but I think we will spare you the excuses and extend our challenge to the end of 2008. Phew! That feels better!!
Melly's catch up session this weekend produced the second quarter of her Scrappy Cabin quilt..
So here is her quilt so far! 1/2 the quilt is done - yippee!!
So if you want to turn this.....
It's not too late. We have officially extended the Scrappy Cabin challenge to December 2008. Take a look at our tutorial here and our Scrappy Cabin post here if you want to join along or be inspired to continue if you started when we did. This is our guilt free pardon to us all!
Melly & Rosie

The scrappy cabin's look gorgeous. I really love the fabrics. The picture with Baby Floss is adorable.

Did you notice how quiet we all were?! I doubt there's a quilter anywhere who doesn't appreciate an extended deadline! Love the white sashing, Rosie.

WOWEE both of your quilts look FANTASTIC - and um well, hanging my head in shame, my fabrics are still in the bag - whoops. This is the perfect inspriation to get them out and cut them up - oh and maybe even stitch them together. Just gorgeous xx Janelle

now girlies
did you actually say 'the end of the year 2007?' or just 'the end of the year???' I always give myself 'christmas' as a deadline, but I figure I haven't mentioned which christmas!
Looks great and the cute factor... awwwwwwwww...
Of course if you are 'over' making this quilt, I am always happy to adopt an orphan quilt, quilt top, block etc!
take care

White sashing, that's the answer! My quilt has stalled because I couldn't find a fabric I liked for the sashing. No excuses now... but the extended deadline is nice :-)

The cute-factor always works! Baby Floss looks adorable in the quilt. I’m glad we have till the end of 2008 to finish the scrappy quilt, lots of us will be... Both the versions look stunning! Happy Scrappy Quilts!

they are looking so fantastic, what a wonderful way to use up your scraps. I have made quite a few squares but they aren't sewn up together yet. I hope that mine will look as half as good.

She's so cute! That definately wins the extension- i guess its the journey and not the destination that matters in the end!
Happy stitching,
Nicky

How completely fantastic! This is one of the loveliest things I've seen made (or not quite made...it will be so worth the wait). About six months ago you suggested doing scrappy cabins to me when I was pondering what to do with all the small bits of material I had - how annoyed I am with myself now that I didn't start on it the minute you'd suggested it! The colours are wonderful and of course, the lovely little Flossy only adds to the effect!
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog about the dress! x

Hilarious - you added a WHOLE year!! That would work brilliantly in my hectic schedule - I can't seem to meet any deadlines! The quilts are both stunning!

Now I might have a chance to actually do this!

Fun! I've got a ton of scraps. It will be fun to have a good way to use them!
Your quilt is absolutely adorable. Love the picture with baby floss.

Thank goodness for an extension! Your quilt is looking amazing, and the cute factor worked. My scrappy cabin quilt is looking more like a place mat, but hey I've got an extension now!

I love it! Have done four blocks all ready. I am using a freezer paper paper-piecing method to get my done. Love scraps!!!!! Will definitely get it done in your time line!

A lovely picture of a beautiful little girl with your (half) quilt. So inspiring!
Did you invent this brilliant system yourselves?
