Too short

Townsville_3We had such a lovely weekend in Townsville but only wished we could have stayed a little longer.  On our afternoon off on Friday we managed to go for a nice long walk along The Strand and enjoyed all of the different sights and sounds that Townville had to offer

Townsville_5It truly is amazing how you can be in the same country yet all of the nature, wildlife, sounds and climate can be so extremely different.

Townsville_4We walked along and enjoyed every little different thing that we found and the noises of the bird-life was just amazing.Townsville_6_2

We were very thankful for the water park that we found along the way for a much needed splash and not far on from there we found a great little restaurant to enjoy a meal overlooking the ocean.  Needless to say at least one of these had to be ordered....Towsville

And of course enjoyed...Townsville_2

On the Saturday my day of designing did not come out quite as intended but I did have a good day of rest as I ventured for a good long walk and lazed about the beautiful hotel we were staying in.  Rosie had a lovely time at the retreat and I am sure she will post all about it soon on her blog.

We only wish that we could have had another day to discover Townsville but if nothing else it was a good taste tease to encourage us to return really soon!  Hope you also had a lovely weekend full of new experiences!  Melly & Rosie

Oh those photos make me homesick! I lived in Townsville for 9 years and it has a very special place in our hearts. (that is where I meet my DH, got married and went to Uni) Ok homesick now. Love K

Rosies Strawberry Daiquiri, great name for a quilt!
Townsville looks like the place to be!
You’re truly living on a continent, not in a country. When you look from Southern to Northern Europe, you see some amazing differences in nature too!

How lovely. Sounds like your flossy free days went well. What a beautiful experience! My work has an office in Townsville and they are always off building walking tracks on Magnetic Island and things like that. So lucky! x Rachel

Sounds like your had a nice weekend. Love the photos and Rosie looks like she might have enjoyed it also.

It sounds like a great weekend. I had the chance to go away last month and planned to do all sorts of things and ended up doing very little! Except sleep. I must have needed to catch up!

You guys always have the best time...love them there drinks...makes my cuppa seem rather dull!!!

I can see why the weekend was too short. It sounds great! Who wouldn't love having a drink named after them?

That daquiri looks fabulous -- and what a cute picture of you enjoying it!!!

oh that really does look beautiful where you were at! Wouldnt it be lovely to live somewhere like that specially near that wee waterfall... Glad you ladies had a good time! :)

Glad you had such a lovely time...I'll take one of those daquiris too! Happy Day ((HUGS))

Hi melly, the birds in your pic (and from around the pool) were called curlews and story has it when they cry like that someone somewhere has gone to heaven... (asked and got all the details)still not home, one day to go, hope you got back safely
Helen

OMG, those daiquiris look YUMMY!!! Makes me want to get my blender out and whip some up!! Just to let you know, I recently sewed up your cute little bunnies from your pattern line! Mary Ann
