Here we are again! No we have not dropped off the side of the world but we may as well have as we have been busy, busy, busy beyond belief with some other commitments and "Melly & me" and "Rosalie Quinlan Designs" have definitely taken the back seat. Only one more week and life will go back to normal - I cant wait to get behind that sewing machine again (withdrawal!).
Last weekend we did get a chance to play "Melly & me" and "Rosalie Quinlan Designs" again for a couple of days as we went along to teach at the annual Country Thyme "Girls Day Out". As some of you may remember this was my first retreat and I was soooooo nervous about being in front of so many women as a guest teacher. But what on earth was I worried about???!!! It was a blast! I had so much fun and it was so exciting to be amongst so many like minded women all doing what they love - what a buzz!!
I will admit that the second day was a little harder as my voice started to fail me from too much talking but the whole experience was just fabulous! I feel like I made so many great new friends and the creative energy and sisterhood in that room was so inspiring. Thank you so much Karen and Julie for inviting me - it was the best first retreat experience I could have ever had!!
And now that the retreat is over I can finally reveal a couple of those sneak peeks from a few months ago!! Here are two of the projects that were given to the ladies at the retreat.........
This is "Blossom" the butterfly - a little cutie whose wings are stitched (iron - on transfer included in the pattern). And this new bag "Flower Garden"......
This is a great bag and REALLY big with two huge expandable pockets on the front. I think this would make a fabulous nappy bag and looks great made with the stitchery & applique designs as well as without. Here is a version that the lovely Lyn (my fabulous new test sewer!) made without the hand sewing....
Isn't it just gorgeous!!??
These two new patterns are now ready for release so that means it must be time for a pattern giveaway!!! While we are MIA again over the next week, please leave us a comment to be in the running to win a copy of the pattern for either "Blossom" or "Flower Garden". We will draw a few winners on our next post (sorry, not quite sure when that will be) and hopefully we will soon have the patterns written for "Petunia" and the eagerly anticipated "Dudley" & "Florence". Which means another giveaway will be just around the corner!
Enjoy your weekend as much as we will and may the floss be with you!!
Melly & Rosie
