The countdown is now almost over, the only things left to do are to pack those bags and make sure our families are ready and prepared to function without us for a while. Another "to-do" is to try and tackle the mummy guilt and worry!
We thought we might share the next picture with you as a bit of a laugh. After our last post a few of you commented about how many booths (not stalls - note to self - a stall is a toilet in the US so don't make a fool of yourself again this year asking people where their stall is!!!) there were. Well the photo we shared last time was only one small section of the show - you thought that was big??? well here is the whole thing - it is huge!!
over 2400 booths!!! We were so overwhelmed when we first saw the size of the hall last year as our shows in Melbourne are only a fraction of this. It gets me so excited just looking at this map (for a brief second before getting back to my mummy guilt!)
And look what else happened this week...
Yes, the scrappy cabin quilt came home all nicely quilted and Rosie and I spent last night getting the binding done! I just love it so much.
Here it is all folded up and ready to head to the States!
This will be our last post for probably about two weeks but we promise to come home with plenty of photos and news from Quilt Market. I promise I will keep my camera strapped to myself this year and not let it grow legs!!
Have a wonderful two weeks and big goodbye from us as well as from all of the flossies...
Yes, there is only one more week to go until we board that dreaded plane (yes, I HATE flying!!) to arrive at our exciting destination in Houston. Our stock has arrived safely and all that is left is to make as many more samples as possible in the few bits of spare time left available.
In the past week or two there have been a few more samples made, thank goodness, although we are coming to the conclusion that we will not have as many as we originally planned for.
But you can only do what you can only do and I am sure it is still going to be so fabulous no matter how many flossies make the journey with us.
The list of things to do is getting a little shorter and the suitcases are about to come out to welcome their new soft and cuddly passengers.
So back to the machine I head since I haven't done any sewing yet today with a million other things to do - I think a new Sherbet bag is next on my list.
If any of you are planning to stop by and see us at Market....
I was just about to hop into bed for an early night when I remembered we were supposed to draw the winners for the giveaway today. It was one of those mad days as Daddy Floss and I repacked, packed, sorted, cut down and then re-added all of the patterns to take with us to Houston. We now have nicely packaged boxes ready to be sent to Houston, but not without our share of sweat and ouchy backs.
So I have decided to do a quick winners post before I go to bed and rest said ouchy back. The random number generator did its beautiful time saving job and we have 3 winners of a Hilda pattern. The winners are Mushyhead (I think I have one of them right now!), Car, and Gail. Please email us with your snail mail addresses gals and we will get your patterns in the mail asap.
Some good news is that I finally finished the last Melly & me project for "The Fat Quarters Club" (peek above) which is now written up and on it's way to the UK. That was my last "non-Houston" task and now there are 2 weeks left to try and get a few more samples made between all the other organising. We will get there I am sure, even if we collapse when we hop in the plane! I am looking forward to going to Rosie and Leanne's Glenharrow retreat this Sunday and just resting and stitching (non-sample stitching!!!) Hope I will see some of you there!
Thank you to everyone who sent such lovely messages to my whinge post earlier this week! It was so nice to get so much encouragement from you all and even though circumstances haven't changed much since then, some boxes have been ticked off and that is a relief. One of the tasks we did manage to get done was to write the pattern for our new cutie-pie "Hilda"
Of course that news heralds a fun new giveaway which we always love!
Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be in the running for a copy of the new "Hilda" patters and we will draw 3 lucky winners this coming Wednesday.
Good luck, and we are off to tick more boxes today!!
