Ok, Ok, I know I said I was going to be sewing Christmas presents for the past week. So what happened???? Well, ummmm, hmmmm, I really have no excuses but I have absolutely nothing to show for myself!! I ended up devoting the majority of my week to study, which was well overdue and I am very happy to have another assignment complete, but it doesn't make for fun blog pictures really, does it?
This weekend has seen me distracted from my Shrinking Sheet plans for a while. While playing last week I managed to make a couple of gifts which has finally got me started on my homemade Christmas quest. I am so glad that I have made a start as I really thought it was going to be left too late.
I was so pleased when a couple of weeks ago my bother told me that my 13 year old nephew was really hoping for a Magoo for Christmas. It really took me by surprise as I did not imagine a 13 year old boy wanting one, but I didn't need to be told twice!! So in the last couple of days I have tried to make an appropriate Magoo - of course florals or love-hearts were out of the question so I decided to make this little fella..
And of course there is one at every port, isn't there???
My 15 year old niece has also been hoping for a Magoo for some time so it was a match made in heaven! I have purchased a couple of "handmade" etsy gifts as well so I think I am well on my way. Now to make some original gifts as I try out a few of my ideas for the book! Which reminds me, thanks so much everyone for your advice! I have the book all planned out in my head now and cant wait to get started!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words and wishes about our roller coaster week! Life goes on and the week is ending a lot better than it started. It is amazing how you can harness the negative energy and turn it into creativity, and how therapeutic is sewing!? I love it!
This past week and especially the last few days has been a complete and utter roller-coaster! Rosie and I have had some big highs and lows and there has been so much going on good and bad around us. I haven't been able to face sewing or blogging for a couple of days but today I dusted myself off and made myself get into the studio. I didn't want to do anything too serious so I decided to have a play with a new product I got my hands on last week.
