Yes, I feel like I am being a little bit lazy at the moment. I have been doing a bit of work here and there but I have mostly been feeling so relaxed and lazy this week enjoying the school holidays much too much! It is amazing how much more time there is in a day when you don't have to drive to school and kinder twice a day each at different times not to mention extra-curricular commitments as well. I am loving doing my morning emailing in my PJs and not getting dressed until much later than usual. It is easy to do in this winter cold.
I did finish this new little friend this week but alas, I cannot show you him in full!! He is heading to the US to be part of a bird themed book..... more news to follow in the future I am sure.
I also started on a new scrappy project! Some of you may remember this beautiful Scrappy Cabin quilt that I finally finished last year made out of all of my scraps...
Well I love this quilt sooooo much that I decided that I had to start a new scrappy quilt!! Inspired by
Rosie's new fabric that will be arriving soon (can't wait!!) "Grandmother's Flower Garden", I have decided to make a Scrappy Flower Garden quilt! This quilt will be my first fully hand sewn and quilted quilt and I am already enjoying it so much!! I wonder if this quilt will take me as long as my Scrappy Cabin did!
I want to start on my next two flowers now!! So see you later, off to relax some more with some hand sewing and a movie.
Melly
Good on you for undertaking a mammoth project like that!! I'm impressed!! A pengiun? Seagull? It's cute... what I can see of it!! Exciting to see another new project!! Alright, I really need to stop wasting time ;o)!!!!!!!!

Sneak peak looks very interesting...how long will we have to wait to see the book?
I did a large grandmothers garden 17 years ago, still not finished..so that of course gives me a PhD in the subject (project half done) I have many many PhD's much better than UFO's lol..

Hand sewing and quilting? You are very ambitious. Your log cabin quilt is beautiful! And the penguin(?) looks great, as usual.

I'm making one with civil war fabrics. Lots of work, but sure is pretty. I don't think I'll hand quilt it though-I'm too lazy, but we'll see how large it gets. I'm suspecting that little sneak peak is a penguin! Which, of course, I'll have to add to the zoo here.

those paper piecing quilts take soooooo long. and it's so addictive picking up little bits of fabric here and there. i did it all with fat quarters and it gets quite expensive. probably better to use scraps you already had.
it's hard to know when to stop.

Love your new little friend - can't wait to see more. The scrappy log cabin is fabulous and I hope I get inspired like you some day to start grandmothers flower garden.

Lazy...? You designed and made a bird and lovely hexagons. That’s not being lazy!
Love the sneak peek and the hexies.
I love to call them hugsagons! Did you use minnimoos fabrics?
I almost finished the scrappy cabin quilt! It remembered me of the first days of blogging and quilting!

Oh a penguin!!! YIPPEEEEE!
I can't wait for Rosie's fabric to be released! I need to start raising some money for it now, because I want all of it LOL! It is sooo pretty!

Yes, that GFG quilt will probably take you longer than the log cabin. Mine is a 10-year project, I think.

Hi Melly
My first quilt was a hand pieced heaxagon quilt 30 years ago! If you would like to check it out go to: http://www.quiltersshowandtell.com/linda-white/
I am going to make another one - all inspired by Annette Gero's book - which I bought.
Happy hexagoning
Linda :)
