Just a quick "Hi"

I know I am so quiet.... so unbelievably quiet!  But as is the usual state when I am oh so quiet - I am also oh so busy.  I thought I would drop in to say a quick hello and a big thank you to all of you who saw Rosie's sneeky post and wished me a happy birthday yesterday.  It was a lovely day spent with friends and family being spoiled, going to the AQM, having my favorite lunch, and having people over for cake and coffee. Just my kind of birthday.

I have deadlines (some unexpected) that could keep me busy for a months all due in the next couple of weeks so I think that it may continue to be a little quiet here for about that amount of time. Amongst all this work, birthdays, hospital visits, trying to get a house ready to maybe sell, etc etc etc I am finding it a little hard to find time for the blog as well.

So I will be back here when my to-do list is a little shorter and I am top of a few jobs.  In the mean time here is another sneak peek to keep you guessing!  

I will be back soon..... promise!!  Really I do!

mmmmmmm colour!

Thanks you so much for all of your lovely comments about my new alien friend.  He really is so cute and it was a sad day for my son this week when he was whisked off to be a sample in a local patchwork store.  I think he may be waiting with held breath until be comes home.

So I suppose I should announce who the winners of the giveaway are!!  The fellow scientists who get to discover the joys of alien ownership are.... Tanya, Lyn Smith and Chris. While I have been so quiet over the last week I have been a busy little beaver working day and night on a new hush-hush project.  It has been so much fun and during my down time I have been enjoying and appreciating colour so much. 

I am sure it could be no surprise to you all that i have a love affair with colour - the more fun the combination and the brighter the better!!  So I thought I would share a few of the colours that have been making me smile this week. 

Everywhere I look there is a beautiful rainbow of colours that has been giving me so much joy!! I wish I could paint every wall in my house a different colour (OK, so I COULD, but maybe I am not so brave!!)

News just in.... "There have been multiple sightings of a new life form in Melbourne's outer east.  It appears that after all of these years of speculation and research; another life form truly does exist! Sneak peeks & a bit of fun

The Easter weekend is well and truly over.  What a lovely mini break to enjoy the last of the warm weather, family and friends, birthday celebrations, barbecues, gardening and a spot of reading.  It was a lovely weekend, but now I must get back to reality in between all the errands I have to run this week. Last week I completed project number 2 for me "yet to be named" deadline.  It was a lot of fun and I think I will be playing with this idea a little more, but first a tease.

I really am having a lot of fun at the moment with the project I am working on, and I just wish I could share more with you all along the way.

A few days ago I got such a fun email from Ann and Barb at Periwinkle Patchwork. After reading my blog post some time ago about reducing pattern templates, their minds starting ticking and they came up with the most ingenious idea of upscaling the pattern for Dee-dee!  I can't tell you how much fun I had looking at this photo.  The "normal sized" Dee-dee can be seen on the giant Dee-dee's back.  How much fun! Thanks so much Ann and Barb! 

I think there may be a giant Dee-dee in my future very soon!  I can just picture a little one riding on it's back and loving it to bits.

I hope you had an amazing Easter break with those you love. I hope that the next time I come back to say hello I will have something new that I actually CAN share!  Here's hoping!!
