Sometimes you just need to escape for a couple of days.
Rosie and I came to the conclusion that the only way we could stop ourselves working was to physically remove ourselves from our homes, so after some insisting from my sweet hubby, we booked ourselves in for a nice weekend in our beautiful city. This worked out to be the perfect timing as we handed over a large chunk of work the day we left, leaving our minds free to simply enjoy ourselves.
We didn't do anything in particular but just let our feet lead us around the city, taking a closer look at anything that took our fancy. We spent a lot of our first day enjoying art, both at federation square's galleries and on the street.
As we were walking along the riverside we saw the promising sign of a fun market or event - market tents!!! We got so excited as we are major market junkies.
We followed the path with anticipation and then realised there were two events - heaven! We came to the first event, only to find out it was a beer festival - hmmm, not so fun. Very disappointed we continued along, still hopeful, thinking what could be less interesting to us than a beer festival??? Surely the next bank of market tents were promising! We were welcomed by a registration area and signs promising a free event - yay! In we went to register when the lady asked us what led us to come to the event? Hmmm, Rosie honestly stated that we had no idea what it even was, what were we entering? We soon found out what was less interesting to us than beer..... fitness! It was an event to promote Women's Health magazine and was all geared at health and fitness....., not the market with lemon fudge we had been hoping for!
It actually was quite funny as we walked around hoping that maybe the fitness bug might rub off on us - please!!! Before we left we thought we needed a souvenir, something to prove that we participated in a health and fitness event - the perfect solution, our faces on the front of a "Women's Health" cover! And then just to check if we had in fact found a new way of a life, to see if we had maybe caught the health bug, we decided to test ourselves by taking a detour past the Lindt cafe. I think maybe we were a lost cause - sorry Women's Health.
It was a weekend full of food, fun and laziness! Just what the Doctor ordered!
The new week started off well too with another deadline finished and a much cleaner slate, I am feeling the freedom to dream up something new, and that is always exciting!
