I am not sure if there is a competition for the slackest blogger of the year, however I am sure if there was I would get an impressive number of nominations! I think it has been 3 weeks since I returned from the amazing Daylesford Craft Experience with great intentions of a super blog post... hmmm, what happened?
Well before I go on to tell you a little about Daylesford and show you my new "Sew Little" and "Melly & me" designs I quickly wanted to mention that there are still some places available for the "When Friends Gather" retreat being held in Townsville on the 30th of July. Rosalie Quinlan, Leanne Beasley and myself will be the guest tutors so if you would like to spend a day with us and other great stitching gals in sunny Townsville, then please contact Tracy at Tinker's Cart. I am so looking forward to the mini escape from freezing Melbourne!
Well the Daylesford Craft Experience was a complete hoot again in 2011!! I had so much fun catching up with the girls - it really is such a great retreat and I think a lot of fun was had by all!
The "Sewn Toy Tales" stars came along for the road trip
I just loved getting to meet and spend time with the talented Kristen Doran
And having too much fun again with the hilarious Jodie Carleton
There was art appreciation at the local shoe store, boot scooting performances by us 3 talented tutors, and a serious B52s theme.... all round there was just too much fun - it almost felt like therapy!
Another exciting thing about Daylesford is that one of my projects from the weekend is now ready to be released as a pattern! This is a new "Sew Little" pattern called "Elephant Parade" Elephant Parade is a great set including a baby quilt, canvas and cushion all with an elephant/Phoebe theme. This set would be so cute to create an instant theme in the nursery and can easily be made perfect for a new baby girl or boy!
Another new creation that has been born over the past couple of weeks in my new Lobster friend, "Rocky" I will admit that Rocky was created on a bit of a lark, but not only has he brought me great amusement, it appears others seem to think cuddling a lobster isn't quite so crazy... For those of you that haven't already seen him on Facebook, here is Rocky who is set to become a new Melly & me pattern in the next week or two - keep a watch out for him!
I am sincerely hoping that this nice long post may make up for some of my slackness!!
Melly.
